Tips for Choosing the Perfect Wedding Venue

Wedding planning can be stressful. Our wedding specialist Connie Barber offers some things to consider before you book your venue.

  • Determine your priorities before you go venue shopping.

What is the “wow” factor you want your wedding to have? Whether it be special lighting, drapery, linens or something unique, have an idea of what your “wow” factor will be before you go looking for venues. Some venues, such as the St. Charles Convention Center, provide all of that for you. Some venues may require you to outsource all of those extra details, so make sure you determine what you want and what you want to pay for it. That way, venue shopping will be a breeze!

  • Look for packages that include everything you want.

If you can avoid outsourcing, we recommend you do! Outsourcing typically increases the price of your wedding and it can be frustrating to communicate with multiple companies. By finding a package that includes everything you want, you can be reassured that everything you need will be at your fingertips and will not dig too deeply into your wallet!

  • Consider set-up and tear-down arrangements.

If you have someone who is willing to set-up and tear-down everything for you, that is great! Unfortunately, this is not always the case. The last thing you will want to do after your wedding is to have to box everything up and carry it to your car. Some venues, such as the St. Charles Convention Center, will set-up and tear-down your wedding for you! If you find a venue that does not do such, be sure to designate who will help you with this task to avoid stress the day of your wedding!
